The Who spielten beim Isle of Wight Konzert erst um 2 Uhr nachts vor 600000 Zuschauern. Zum ordentlichen Filmen war die Beleuchtung zu schlecht/gering und die Kameramänner waren wohl zu betrunken oder zugedröhnt. Die Aufnahmen sind zum Teil stark verwackelt und es wird viel gezoomt. Mit Hilfe modernster Technik wurde das Konzert, unter Verwendung des Filmnegatives restauriert. Durchgehend ist ein heftiges Filmkorn zu sehen, dass mit Anti-Rauschfiltern bearbeitet worden ist, wodurch das Bild auch immer leicht weich erscheint. Immerhin sieht diese Blu-ray besser als die DVD aus, man sieht mehr Details und die Farben sind wesentlich kräftiger.
At 2am The Who played appeared on the stage in front of 600,000 people. The lighting was too low and unsuitable for filming and the camera crew was drunk and/or stoned. The shots are somewhat jittery and there is also a lot of zooming. By means of state of the art technology the concert has been restored from the original negative. There is a lot of film grain evident throughout the whole concert. The grain was treated with DVNR which resulted in a somewhat soft image. But the picture quality is better than on the DVD version of the concert. The Blu-ray version offers more details and more vibrant colors.

Für den 5.1-Mix dieser Blu-ray wurde das original 8-Spurmaster unter der persönlichen Aufsicht von Pete Townshend verwendet. Der 5.1-Mix liegt als Dolby Digital 5.1 (48 kHz, 448 kbps), als Stereo-Mix (48 kHz, 16 Bit) und als DTS HD Master Audio (96 kHz, 24 Bit) vor. Der DTS-Ton klingt erstaunlich klar und präzise. Live-Atmosphäre entsteht nur wenn die Zuschauer laut genug mitmachen, ansonsten handelt es sich um einen “right in the middle”-Mix bei dem man von dem Ton umhüllt wird. Dabei kann man jedes Instrument genau heraushören.
For this Blu-ray disc the sound has been remix to 5.1 from the original 8 track tapes under the personal supervision of Pete Townshend. This 5.1 mix is included as Dolby Digital 5.1 (48 kHz, 448 kbps), as Stereo-Mix (48 kHz, 16 Bit) and as DTS HD Master Audio 5.1 (96 kHz, 24 Bit). The DTS track sound amazingly clear and precise. The feeling of listening to a live concert appears only when the audience is loud enough, apart from that the mix is more of a “right in the middle”-mix with an enveloping sound field. Each instrument can clearly be heard.
